Randomly stopped in here during a road trip not knowing what to expect. I googled, "non chain restaurants in Columbus." If you have the opportunity, eat here! Its southern cooking done right! I'll definitely stop by and eat here again next time I'm in town!
Try the fried green beans! -

Based off of the Yelp reviews and a recommendation from a friend, we gave The Black Cow a try when we were visiting the area. Pretty glad we did.
The BLT dip as an appetizer was really good.
Shrimp and grits for me....the shrimp cooked perfectly, sitting on fried grit cakes, covered with a mild creole sauce.....very tasty.
The wife really enjoyed her ribeye steak that was damn near the size of the plate!
My only complaint would be how noisy it was. -

What's the point of hanging with your girls and not having a list of perfect places that serve some of the most richest, tastiest southern cooking?
The Black Cow is for sure a starter...
Shrimp and grits were buttery and savory.
Fried Green tomatoes were fresh, tart and just so delicious. I've had them in the past but not like this. It was such a nice combination of flavors.
Location is a bit small but with the wait. -

This was a great early evening date before things got busy. They can handle the crowds, but they are a good intimate place to dine.
Quality crafted burgers and awesome entrees rule the scene here. Beer is cold and comes out quickly. What else do you want?
